We have usually seen her as the spirited, girl-next-door; now the smiley beauty Sonam Kapoor will present her serious side soon for Pankaj Kapoor’s directorial debut ‘Mausam’.

Starring opposite Shahid Kapoor, Sonam is said to play a mature lady in the film, as the story develops. Now for the 25-year old actress, the character poses to be a new experience and something like testing waters. Initially Sonam said to have felt apprehensive to play the role as she has never done it before and also a character which is older than her actual age.

To get her into the ‘mature’ mode, noted fashion designer Anamika Khanna has been brought on board. The designer along with the actress is currently going through a series of clothing styles, to pick one which Sonam feels most comfortable.

Shahid here features as a fighter pilot and once he had joked that how 'Mausam' has turned him and Sonam into overnight adult stars.

While Shahid had donned a matured look before in 'Jab We Met', for Sonam the transformation from girl to woman in ‘Mausam’ is a challenge, according to producer Sheetal Talwar.
